ACT.
Just a simple word, act.
You won’t get to study in the Tower Block, unless you act.
You won’t get the SMO champ, unless you act.
You won’t realise your dream, unless you act.
Ms Gwee’s lesson with us was very inspiring. At least it made us realise that smtp classes lack the initiative to bond with each other. The idea is not idealistic. It is achievable, not until you act.
The same thing goes to my passion in studying Maths. I rediscovered the passion of mugging maths, scribbling random stuffs, and satisfaction of answering questions I had when I was in Primary school. I have not been achieving well in SMO, so I am going to ACT this year.
4 years for me to understand the importance. How many more years do I need to practice this virtue?
Cheers,
Khor Shi-Jie
Nothing much to post except for this video:
“Can you answer this question? It's the world's hardest riddle and 80 percent of Kindergartners solved it compared to 5 percent of Stanford graduates. We bet there's nothing you do to figure this brain teaser out. ”

I shall dedicate this song to all mothers in the world, especially mine!
Mom Song - The most popular videos are a click away![]()
I feel nostalgic when I watch my Beijing video again and again, when I listen to 《我和你》 numerous time, when I stare at my 天安门 wallpaper on my computer…
I miss the days at Beijing…
I feel nostalgic when I flipped through the 毕业刊 of my primary school. I did not attend their gathering last year, and have not met them for around two years…
I miss my friends and my primary school friends…
Anyway, today is a new year. I am a Sec 4 already (wearing long pants for 2 weeks liao), and this is my last year at the high school section. If I do not work hard this year, when would I have another chance?
New year, new aims. I aspire to be more flexible and fit this year. Wish everyone a happy chinese 牛 year!
Oh ya, good luck to Xue Zheng whom I met in the airport for THIMUN :)
Cheers,
Khor Shi-Jie

From 16 Nov to 24 Nov, our school sent a group of students and teachers to Shanghai for Mathematics Olympiad training. Here are some memorable moments in Shanghai (the good, the bad, the spazz, etc.):
Changi airport Terminal 3… Possibly the best airport in the world
First sight in Shanghai. Mist or dust?
Lol, they call us aliens… (not that it is wrong, but other words more appropriate right?)
Hostel guest room. Just like a normal hotel room.
Some photos taken at Shanghai walking street.
The 7-storey Shanghai Book City
东方明珠塔, and Eng Keat
熊斌教授, China IMO team coach (He’s awesome!)
The school where we are staying at
周庄
Two sec 4 seniors competing with each other, see who can eat more snails
Eng Keat on a boat. No comments.
这个点,这个角,这条线,因此这九点共圆,*&#$@%WALAUA
复旦附中, another top school
This pic is funny. Sec 4 a bit lame :-)
Train station at Shanghai. Going to Hangzhou for one day tour.
A picture taken at 西湖. Eng Keat 杀风景.
A very interesting scene, as if the tree is kissing the water.
Very nice lake
Took this photo at 岳王庙. 满江红!
Silk factory at Hangzhou
Fighting scenes at 宋城. A scene in 水浒传.
Gigantic chess pieces
西湖龙井茶!Best green tea in the world (as claimed)
Final destination… 灵隐寺
Peter with my cap. He had an injury on his head.
Back to Terminal 3. Bye bye Shanghai.
~The End~

Exams are over, paper checking is almost over, schooling is almost over (sianz…). When I was wandering aimlessly in the internet, I stumbled upon some interesting and useful extensions for Firefox.
Cooliris
Cooliris is a 3D browsing tool for you to browse through multimedia resources such as Google images, Youtube, news feeds, etc. Although this is a graphically demanding extension, it doesn’t really lag your computer (for my case, a 1.66gHz toshiba).
Facebook Toolbar for Firefox
This extension is handy if you use facebook frequently, as it automatically inform you about status updates, requests and so on. Otherwise, you can simply use it as a facebook shortcut.
Fast Dial
Opera users should be familiar with this term. This extension brings one of the outstanding feature in Opera to Firefox. It shows an array of favourite sites that you can customize. Though simple, this extension will definitely enhance your Firefox experience.
________________________________________________________
These extensions can be downloaded from http://addons.mozilla.com, except for the facebook toolbar which is downloadable from the facebook website. Besides, the theme that is used in the above images is “MacOSX theme”. You may download it from the same website if you’re interested.
Anyway, this post marks the first birthday of my blog.

Most of us believe that English is a subject that cannot be prepared. Only a handful of people actually study for English tests (based on my observation). In these cases, people will only obtain grades that they usually get. Therefore, I would like to make a difference, and hope that everyone can contribute some phrases, linking words, vocabulary, quotes or even facts or anecdotes. (Well, I have to admit that I have imitated Gohlz’s mugging style, but hey, students including me did learn something from his notes).
Currently, I have not collated these information, but I do hope that whenever, anyone pass by this blog, please leave some constructive phrases. If possible, do provide the meaning of the phrase and examples of using the phrases.
Thank you very much, and I really appreciate for your kind effort to make a difference.
Cheers,
Khor Shi-Jie
